I admit that I didn’t get around to the original Escape Academy when it came out a few years ago (though you can check out Noisy Pixel’s review of the game ), but it did cross my radar as a fan of both puzzle games and escape rooms.

I’ve put my time in with the Zero Escape series, but the idea of a more lighthearted take on that franchise’s murder game premise did interest me enough to be curious about the sequel, particularly once I found out that it was going for an open-world approach that allowed for exploration and more environmental storytelling.

Having now fully cleared Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School , I can say that the things I went in expecting to be strong were, but also that developer Coin Crew Games might not have been fully ready for its huge leap into open-world academia.
