COVER reaches settlement with minor who spread false rumors about hololive VTuber. Legal guardians agree to pay damages

COVER Corporation, the company behind VTuber agency hololive , announced on October 28 that it has identified an individual who published false personal information allegedly belonging to one of its VTubers on social media.

The person in question is a minor, which led to a settlement between the company and the minor’s legal guardians, with the latter agreeing to pay damages and provide future supervision to the youth.

Following a court ruling that determined that the posts infringed upon the talent’s rights – constituting slander and defamation – COVER identified the perpetrator through a request for the disclosure of the poster’s information.
